The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Israel ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of book and brochure to Ukraine, with a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, book and brochure imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Hungary (X units), with a 9.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +12.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (-22.3% per year) and Hungary (+16.5% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of books, brochures and similar printed matter to Ukraine, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 5% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 4.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +17.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (-23.4% per year) and Hungary (+11.1% per year).

Over the period under review, import price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
