The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 82%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X units) was the main destination for wood box and cable drum exports from Ukraine, with a 46% share of total exports. Moreover, wood box and cable drum exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Moldova (X units), threefold. Poland (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany amounted to -4.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Moldova (+17.0% per year) and Poland (+3.6% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for wood boxes, crates and cable drums exports from Ukraine, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Moldova ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany totaled -1.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Moldova (+21.0% per year) and Poland (+7.1% per year).

The average export price for wood boxes, crates and cable drums stood at $X per unit in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. In general, export price indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports into Ukraine

Wood box and cable drum imports into Ukraine dropped remarkably to X units in 2022, waning by -36.4% against 2021. Overall, imports saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 98% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, wood box and cable drum imports fell sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 162% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

Lithuania (X units), Bosnia and Herzegovina (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of wood box and cable drum imports to Ukraine, with a combined 66% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Bosnia and Herzegovina (with a CAGR of +2,869.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
