Over the period under review, exports saw a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 1,278% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades exports plummeted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 1,258%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Moldova (X tons), Latvia (X kg) and Germany (X kg) were the main destinations of citrus fruit jams and marmalades exports from Ukraine, with a combined 93% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, which accounted for a further 4.5%.

In 2022, overseas purchases of citrus fruit jams, marmalades, jellies, purees or pastes decreased by -30.5% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after five years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 184%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a noticeable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 96% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Greece (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of citrus fruit jams and marmalades imports to Ukraine, together accounting for 65% of total imports. Italy, France, Denmark, Vietnam, Poland and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +99.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, import price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, citrus fruit jams and marmalades import price increased by +25.6% against 2020 indices.
