In value terms, the largest markets for crab and crab meat exported from Ukraine were Maldives ($X), Norway ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X).
Among the main countries of destination, the United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of 0.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, the average crab and crab meat export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 30% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a temperate expansion. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Norway ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+76.6%).

Imports into Ukraine
Crab and crab meat imports into Ukraine expanded significantly to X tons in 2021, growing by 7.2% on 2020. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +9.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 48%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, crab and crab meat imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 115%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Norway (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) were the main suppliers of crab and crab meat imports to Ukraine, together comprising 44% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +7,364.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Norway ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crabs and crab meat to Ukraine, comprising 27% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Greenland, with a 9.8% share.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
