Russia (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations of calendering cylinder exports from Ukraine, with a combined 84% share of total exports.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for cylinders for calendering exports from Ukraine, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 8.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Slovakia, with a 5.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia amounted to -14.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-4.7% per year) and Slovakia (+23.6% per year).

In 2021, the average calendering cylinder export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 3.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 38%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +20.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of cylinders for calendering to Ukraine, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 9.5% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with an 8.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany totaled +5.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-5.9% per year) and China (-6.0% per year).

In 2021, the average calendering cylinder import price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 103% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
