Poland (X units), Belarus (X units) and Lithuania (X units) were the main destinations of desktop computer exports from Ukraine, together accounting for 55% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+14.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Ukraine

Desktop computer imports into Ukraine was estimated at X units in 2021, increasing by 14% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 80% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, desktop computer imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest desktop computer supplier to Ukraine, accounting for a 61% share of total imports. Moreover, desktop computer imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X units), with a 3.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +8.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+42.3% per year) and Germany (-4.5% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the largest desktop computer suppliers to Ukraine, with a combined 89% share of total imports.

Poland, with a CAGR of +56.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average desktop computer import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 3.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 99.9%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
