Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 200%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, wood dryer exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 143%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Finland (X units) was the main destination for wood dryer exports from Ukraine, with a 35% share of total exports. Moreover, wood dryer exports to Finland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Latvia (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Turkey (X units), with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Finland was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Latvia (+21.9% per year) and Turkey (+31.6% per year).

In value terms, Finland ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard exports from Ukraine, comprising 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Latvia, with a 9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Finland was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+19.8% per year) and Latvia (+34.9% per year).

In 2021, the average wood dryer export price amounted to $X per unit, waning by -50.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 96%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard, when their volume decreased by -15.8% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 228%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, wood dryer imports contracted markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 98% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020, and then shrank notably in the following year.

In 2021, Germany (X units) constituted the largest supplier of wood dryer to Ukraine, accounting for a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, wood dryer imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X units), fourfold. Italy (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Germany amounted to +32.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+29.2% per year) and Italy (+49.4% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard to Ukraine, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany totaled +25.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+14.7% per year) and Italy (+18.6% per year).

In 2021, the average wood dryer import price amounted to $X per unit, declining by -27.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
