Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, herring, salted or in brine imports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 152% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In 2022, Norway (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of herring, salted or in brine to Ukraine, with a 85% share of total imports. Moreover, herring, salted or in brine imports from Norway exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tons), sixfold.
