Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for inedible fish products exports from Ukraine, accounting for a 86% share of total exports. Moreover, inedible fish products exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X kg), sixfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Poland stood at -5.4%.
In value terms, Poland ($X) and China ($X) were the largest markets for inedible fish products exported from Ukraine worldwide.
Poland, with a CAGR of +6.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review.
Export Prices by Country
The average inedible fish products export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 175% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 316%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Inedible Fish Products Imports
Imports into Ukraine
After two years of growth, overseas purchases of inedible fish products decreased by -27.3% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 8,339%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, inedible fish products imports declined notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 661%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Denmark (X tons) was the main inedible fish products supplier to Ukraine, with a 95% share of total imports. Moreover, inedible fish products imports from Denmark exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Estonia (X tons), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Denmark stood at -30.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Estonia (0.0% per year) and France (-39.3% per year).
In value terms, Denmark ($X) constituted the largest supplier of inedible fish products to Ukraine, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 1.8% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Denmark totaled -22.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-30.3% per year) and Estonia (0.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average inedible fish products import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -26.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a significant contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 589% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
