In 2022, the amount of iron or steel plaited bands and slings imported into Ukraine reduced markedly to X tons, shrinking by -25.6% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 162%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, steel plaited band imports rose notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 112% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey (X tons), China (X tons) and Italy (X kg) were the main suppliers of steel plaited band imports to Ukraine, together comprising 83% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +112.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+34.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
