In value terms, laptop and tablet computer exports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 71%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Moldova (X units) was the main destination for laptop and tablet computer exports from Ukraine, with a 50% share of total exports. Moreover, laptop and tablet computer exports to Moldova exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Georgia (X units), fourfold. Germany (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Moldova amounted to -10.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Georgia (+101.7% per year) and Germany (+0.9% per year).

In value terms, Moldova ($X) remains the key foreign market for laptops and palm-top computers exports from Ukraine, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 6.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Moldova stood at -2.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-5.2% per year) and Kazakhstan (+39.8% per year).

In 2021, the average laptop and tablet computer export price amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -16.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+22.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of laptops and palm-top computers, when their volume increased by 27% to X units. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, laptop and tablet computer imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X units) was the main laptop and tablet computer supplier to Ukraine, with a 98% share of total imports. It was followed by Vietnam (X units), with a 1.2% share of total imports. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X units), with a 0.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (-8.7% per year) and Germany (-42.2% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of laptops and palm-top computers to Ukraine, comprising 96% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 1.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 0.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +17.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (-7.8% per year) and Germany (-34.6% per year).

The average laptop and tablet computer import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 42%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per unit), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
