From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Montenegro (with a CAGR of +43.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for starter battery exported from Ukraine were Poland ($X), France ($X) and Lithuania ($X), with a combined 61% share of total exports. Montenegro, with a CAGR of +48.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average starter battery export price amounted to $X per unit, waning by -3.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, starter battery imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a prominent expansion. Overall, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, starter battery import price increased by +72.4% against 2017 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
