Loading Machinery Market Size in Ukraine

The Ukrainian loading machinery market dropped modestly to $X in 2022, flattening at the previous year. In general, consumption, however, recorded a notable expansion. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, overseas shipments of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery decreased by -41.4% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 59% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, loading machinery exports declined significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 98% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia (X units), Poland (X units) and Romania (X units) were the main destinations of loading machinery exports from Ukraine, together comprising 35% of total exports. The United States, Israel, Moldova, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Denmark, China, Slovakia and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 46%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Israel (with a CAGR of +71.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Russia ($X) and Poland ($X) were the largest markets for loading machinery exported from Ukraine worldwide, with a combined 37% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Israel, Romania, the United States, Moldova, Germany, Hungary, Denmark, Italy, Slovakia and Lithuania, which together accounted for a further 40%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Israel, with a CAGR of +73.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average loading machinery export price amounted to $X per unit, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, loading machinery export price increased by +91.3% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 59%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Ukraine

In 2022, approx. X units of lifting, handling, loading or unloading machinery were imported into Ukraine; declining by -42.7% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 134%. Imports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, loading machinery imports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 104% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Germany (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of loading machinery imports to Ukraine, with a combined 53% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +36.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Italy ($X) were the largest loading machinery suppliers to Ukraine, with a combined 64% share of total imports.

The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +25.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average loading machinery import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a slight contraction. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for the United States ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
