From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +66.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for non-numerically controlled horizontal lathes, for removing metal exports from Ukraine, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by Iran, with a 4.7% share.

For the third consecutive year, Ukraine recorded growth in overseas purchases of non-numerically controlled horizontal lathes, for removing metal, which increased by 20% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 238% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-numerically controlled lathe imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 212% against the previous year. Over the period under review, non-numerically controlled laimports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of non-numerically controlled lathe to Ukraine, accounting for a 66% share of total imports. Moreover, non-numerically controlled lathe imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Bulgaria (X units), with a 6.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +10.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+7.8% per year) and Bulgaria (+23.6% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-numerically controlled horizontal lathes, for removing metal to Ukraine, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Bulgaria ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 6.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to -1.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bulgaria (+0.0% per year) and Belarus (-1.4% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average non-numerically controlled lathe import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 4.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 612% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while the price for Poland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
