Orange Market Size in Ukraine

In 2022, the Ukrainian orange market decreased by -2.9% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, consumption recorded a abrupt decrease. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malta ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to British Virgin Islands (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of oranges decreased by -17.5% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, orange imports reached $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 29%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Turkey (X tons), Egypt (X tons) and South Africa (X tons) were the main suppliers of orange imports to Ukraine, with a combined 87% share of total imports. Spain and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 9.4%.
