In 2022, imports of piper pepper into Ukraine dropped to X tons, with a decrease of -6.3% on 2021 figures. Overall, imports saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 26%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) constituted the largest supplier of piper pepper to Ukraine, comprising 60% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 27% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Vietnam totaled -8.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (+42.4% per year) and India (-8.0% per year).

In 2022, the average piper pepper import price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 57%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
