Imports by Country

In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest potato chips supplier to Ukraine, with a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, potato chips imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Belgium (X tons), with a 9.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Poland totaled -3.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+3.5% per year) and Belgium (+18.6% per year).

In value terms, Poland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of potato chips to Ukraine, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Romania, with a 9.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Poland amounted to -2.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+42.0% per year) and Romania (0.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average potato chips import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, potato chips import price increased by +99.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
