Moldova (X tons) was the main destination for preserved turkey exports from Ukraine, with a 74% share of total exports. In value terms, Ghana ($X), Moldova ($X) and Jordan ($X) constituted the largest markets for preserved turkey exported from Ukraine worldwide, with a combined 89% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Ghana, with a CAGR of +938.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved turkey export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -35.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a temperate increase. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ghana (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Ukraine
In 2021, supplies from abroad of prepared or preserved meat or offal of turkeys increased by 0.5% to X tons, rising for the sixth year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 162% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, preserved turkey imports expanded slightly to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 107%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons) was the main supplier of preserved turkey to Ukraine, with a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, preserved turkey imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (X tons), with a 2.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Poland stood at +3.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+39.7% per year) and Germany (+125.3% per year).
In value terms, Poland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of prepared or preserved meat or offal of turkeys to Ukraine, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 7.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Poland totaled +5.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+25.4% per year) and Germany (+134.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average preserved turkey import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 4% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, preserved turkey import price increased by +5.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 28%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
