Romania (X units) was the main destination for printers and copying machines exports from Ukraine, accounting for a 36% share of total exports. Moreover, printers and copying machines exports to Romania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Togo (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X units), with a 7.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Romania totaled +132.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Togo (0.0% per year) and Poland (-5.6% per year).

In value terms, Romania ($X) remains the key foreign market for printers, copying machines and facsimile machines exports from Ukraine, comprising 39% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 5% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a 4.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Romania totaled +116.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+14.3% per year) and Poland (-4.7% per year).

In 2021, the average printers and copying machines export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 25% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 143%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Overall, imports, however, saw a noticeable downturn. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, printers and copying machines imports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

China (X units), Germany (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of printers and copying machines imports to Ukraine, together accounting for 38% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Finland, Russia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Austria and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 18%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +37.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, the largest printers and copying machines suppliers to Ukraine were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and China ($X), together accounting for 30% of total imports. The Netherlands, Finland, Russia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.

Russia, with a CAGR of +2.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average printers and copying machines import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -3.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 27% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
