Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a precipitous slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 18%. The exports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Moldova (X units), Romania (X units) and Russia (X units) were the main destinations of exports of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture from Ukraine, together accounting for 49% of total exports. Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Poland, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +129.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture exported from Ukraine were Georgia ($X), Azerbaijan ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 39% share of total exports. Moldova, Romania, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +130.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 23% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 82% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 50%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, imports of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture rose remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture to Ukraine, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 4.5% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +3.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (-7.8% per year) and Italy (-10.8% per year).

In 2021, the average import price for residential, commercial and industrial lighting fixture amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 11% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
