In 2021, exports of rubber hose reinforced with textiles from Ukraine surged to X tons, rising by 63% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, saw a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 113%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, textile rubber hose exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 147%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia (X tons), Moldova (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) were the main destinations of textile rubber hose exports from Ukraine, together accounting for 76% of total exports. Poland, Lithuania, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +61.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for rubber hose reinforced with textiles exports from Ukraine, comprising 31% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belarus ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Moldova, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia stood at -3.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+10.5% per year) and Moldova (+6.2% per year).

In 2021, the average textile rubber hose export price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -12.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Ukraine

For the fourth consecutive year, Ukraine recorded growth in purchases abroad of rubber hose reinforced with textiles, which increased by 12% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, textile rubber hose imports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 21%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

China (X tons), Russia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main suppliers of textile rubber hose imports to Ukraine, with a combined 73% share of total imports. Poland, Turkey, Italy, Germany and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +16.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), China ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) were the largest textile rubber hose suppliers to Ukraine, together comprising 52% of total imports. These countries were followed by Poland, Turkey, Germany, Italy and Belarus, which together accounted for a further 32%.

In terms of the main suppliers, Turkey, with a CAGR of +19.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average textile rubber hose import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 16%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
