The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sanitary towel and diaper exports rose to $X in 2021. In general, exports showed a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Poland (X tons) was the main destination for sanitary towel and diaper exports from Ukraine, with a 33% share of total exports. Moreover, sanitary towel and diaper exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Czech Republic (X tons), with a 15% share.

From 2014 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Poland amounted to +8.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+136.6% per year) and the Czech Republic (+14.6% per year).

In value terms, Poland ($X), Germany ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest markets for sanitary towel and diaper exported from Ukraine worldwide, with a combined 60% share of total exports.

Germany, with a CAGR of +139.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average sanitary towel and diaper export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 4.7% against the previous year. Over the period from 2014 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 13%. The export price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
