Iron or steel sanitary ware imports into Ukraine dropped to X tons in 2021, which is down by -10.2% against 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron or steel sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 42%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest iron or steel sanitary ware supplier to Ukraine, with a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, iron or steel sanitary ware imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), fourfold. The Czech Republic (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at -2.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (-20.7% per year) and the Czech Republic (+5.9% per year).

In value terms, the largest iron or steel sanitary ware suppliers to Ukraine were China ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X), together comprising 74% of total imports. The Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.

Portugal, with a CAGR of +74.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 29% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 52%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton.
