Over the period under review, the total production indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +2.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, overseas shipments of sawnwood (non-coniferous) decreased by -12.5% to X cubic meters, falling for the sixth consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, exports saw a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 22%. The exports peaked at X cubic meters in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports stood at $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 21%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Poland (X cubic meters), Lithuania (X cubic meters) and Romania (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports from Ukraine, together accounting for 47% of total exports. Estonia, Turkey, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, China and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.
