Exports from Ukraine

In 2022, overseas shipments of sheets, panels and tiles of cellulose fibrecement decreased by -3.7% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 22% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Moldova (X tons), Serbia (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main destinations of cellulose fibrecement sheet exports from Ukraine, together accounting for 65% of total exports. Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Poland and Estonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Lithuania totaled +22.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (-6.1% per year) and Japan (+0.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average cellulose fibrecement sheet import price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -33.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 55%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+16.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
