As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, silicon dioxide exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Russia (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main destinations of silicon dioxide exports from Ukraine, with a combined 41% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +66.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for silicon dioxide exported from Ukraine were Russia ($X), Germany ($X) and Slovakia ($X), together accounting for 39% of total exports. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 41% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, silicon dioxide imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +9.3% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons), China (X tons) and Russia (X tons) were the main suppliers of silicon dioxide imports to Ukraine, with a combined 55% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Turkey, Poland, the United States, Norway and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for France (with a CAGR of +197.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
