Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, spectacles and goggles exports reduced to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 609%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to China totaled +131.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Moldova (+0.7% per year) and Libya (+104.0% per year).

In 2021, the average spectacles and goggles export price amounted to $X per unit, waning by -10.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 72%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then dropped in the following year.

Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, spectacles and goggles imports rose modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main suppliers of spectacles and goggles imports to Ukraine, with a combined 64% share of total imports. Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, Taiwan (Chinese), Italy and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
