Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 255% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, textile tubing exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded slight growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 368%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for textile tubing exports from Ukraine, accounting for a 81% share of total exports. Moreover, textile tubing exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Moldova (X kg), sixfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany stood at +60.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Moldova (-12.6% per year) and Cyprus (+24.2% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing exports from Ukraine, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Moldova ($X), with a 2.2% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany amounted to +55.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Moldova (-20.0% per year) and Cyprus (+20.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average textile tubing export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 144% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 166% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (-3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Ukraine

In 2022, textile tubing imports into Ukraine expanded markedly to X tons, increasing by 9.7% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 61%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, textile tubing imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +104.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 59%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest textile tubing supplier to Ukraine, with a 61% share of total imports. Moreover, textile tubing imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X tons), fourfold. Norway (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 15% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+117.7% per year) and Norway (+52.9% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Norway ($X) and Austria ($X) appeared to be the largest textile tubing suppliers to Ukraine, with a combined 80% share of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, Austria, with a CAGR of +92.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average textile tubing import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 19% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, textile tubing import price increased by +83.2% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 21%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
