Rubber tube and pipe exports from Ukraine amounted to X tons in 2021, increasing by 11% compared with 2020. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) were the main destinations of rubber tube and pipe exports from Ukraine, with a combined 52% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Kazakhstan, Poland, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, which together accounted for a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +98.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for rubber tube and pipe exported from Ukraine were Poland ($X), Belarus ($X) and Kazakhstan ($X), with a combined 41% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Russia, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Uzbekistan and Lithuania, which together accounted for a further 31%.

The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +83.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average rubber tube and pipe export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 21%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Ukraine

In 2021, the amount of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber imported into Ukraine skyrocketed to X tons, increasing by 17% against 2020. In general, imports, however, showed a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 27%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of rubber tube and pipe to Ukraine, accounting for a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Czech Republic (X tons), with an 8.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -4.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (-6.6% per year) and the Czech Republic (-2.8% per year).

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), China ($X) and Russia ($X) were the largest rubber tube and pipe suppliers to Ukraine, with a combined 53% share of total imports. Turkey, Poland, Italy and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.

In terms of the main suppliers, Turkey, with a CAGR of +23.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average rubber tube and pipe import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 14%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
