In value terms, unbleached sulphate pulp imports shrank markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Sweden totaled +3.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (-22.8% per year) and Austria (-6.4% per year).

Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 26%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while the price for Austria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
