In 2022, exports of vegetables from Ukraine dropped sharply to X tons, reducing by X% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vegetable exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Moldova (X tons) was the main destination for vegetable exports from Ukraine, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, vegetable exports to Moldova exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Azerbaijan (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Moldova stood at X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (X% per year) and Azerbaijan (X% per year).

In value terms, Poland ($X), Moldova ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the largest markets for vegetable exported from Ukraine worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. Azerbaijan, Estonia, Turkey, Russia and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Azerbaijan, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average vegetable export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
