Wadding Market Size in Ukraine

In 2021, the amount of wadding exported from Ukraine expanded modestly to X tons, growing by 4.8% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, exports saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 60%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, wadding exports reached $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 77%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Turkey (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Azerbaijan (X tons) were the main destinations of wadding exports from Ukraine, together accounting for 55% of total exports. These countries were followed by Georgia, Romania, South Korea, Switzerland, Russia, Brazil, Croatia, Belarus and Serbia, which together accounted for a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +33,614.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Azerbaijan ($X), Turkey ($X) and Georgia ($X) were the largest markets for wadding exported from Ukraine worldwide, together comprising 45% of total exports. These countries were followed by Switzerland, Poland, Brazil, Romania, South Korea, Russia, Belarus, Croatia and Serbia, which together accounted for a further 45%.
Among the main countries of destination, South Korea, with a CAGR of +32,528.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average wadding export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 9.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 13%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wadding Imports
Imports into Ukraine
In 2021, overseas purchases of wadding increased by 12% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a slight decrease. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wadding imports rose notably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 18%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Poland (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main suppliers of wadding imports to Ukraine, together comprising 39% of total imports. These countries were followed by Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Japan, Turkey and Italy, which together accounted for a further 54%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Japan (with a CAGR of +137.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Lithuania ($X) and Hungary ($X) appeared to be the largest wadding suppliers to Ukraine, together accounting for 42% of total imports. These countries were followed by Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Latvia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Turkey and Italy, which together accounted for a further 50%.
Among the main suppliers, Latvia, with a CAGR of +138.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average wadding import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -5.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
