In 2022, overseas shipments of wooden furniture for kitchens increased by 21% to X units, rising for the seventh year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, wooden kitchen furniture exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Germany (X units), Poland (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) were the main destinations of wooden kitchen furniture exports from Ukraine, with a combined 44% share of total exports. Romania, Latvia, the United States, France, Belgium, Moldova, the UK, Croatia, Canada and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +111.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average wooden kitchen furniture export price amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -44.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Canada ($X per unit) and the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per unit) and Moldova ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of wooden furniture for kitchens, when their volume decreased by -63.4% to X units. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 23%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 27%. In 2022, Italy (X units) constituted the largest supplier of wooden kitchen furniture to Ukraine, with a 49% share of total imports. Poland (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Italy amounted to -16.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-11.5% per year) and Poland (-22.7% per year).

The average wooden kitchen furniture import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 7.4%.
