Overall, imports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 91% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, modified starches imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 124%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest modified starches supplier to the United Arab Emirates, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, modified starches imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X tons), with an 8.1% share.
