Oman (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Iran stood at -12.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Free Zones (+8.3% per year) and Oman (+11.0% per year).

In value terms, Iran ($X) remains the key foreign market for ferro-manganese exports from the United Arab Emirates, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Oman ($X), with a 1.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Free Zones, with a 0.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Iran stood at -4.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+8.4% per year) and Free Zones (-17.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average ferro-manganese export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -76.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Free Zones ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+12.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates

In 2022, imports of ferro-manganese into the United Arab Emirates declined modestly to X tons, standing approx. at the year before. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 12%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ferro-manganese imports reached $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 91%.
