Iran (X tons), Afghanistan (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main destinations of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine exports from the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 58% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Oman, South Korea and China, which together accounted for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +102.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodines decreased by -75.5% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 520% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine imports fell notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 675%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
India (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main suppliers of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine imports to the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 65% share of total imports. Kuwait, Turkmenistan, China, Singapore and Chile lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Singapore (with a CAGR of +62.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Turkmenistan ($X), Iran ($X) and Singapore ($X) were the largest fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine suppliers to the United Arab Emirates, together accounting for 65% of total imports.
