Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main destination for frozen fish meat exports from the United Arab Emirates, accounting for a 80% share of total exports. Moreover, frozen fish meat exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kuwait (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Jordan (X tons), with a 5.3% share.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Kuwait ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Jordan, with a 7.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia totaled -2.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kuwait (+18.9% per year) and Jordan (+14.5% per year).

In general, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 415%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, frozen fish meat imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 564%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Thailand (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the main suppliers of frozen fish meat imports to the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 55% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain and Seychelles, which together accounted for a further 6%.
