Melon Market Size in the United Arab Emirates

The melon market in the United Arab Emirates fell modestly to $X in 2022, which is down by -1.6% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, saw a perceptible decrease. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, melon imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of melon to the United Arab Emirates, accounting for a 38% share of total imports. Moreover, melon imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Jordan (X tons), twofold. Brazil (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 17% share.
