From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States totaled +134.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (-7.1% per year) and Tanzania (-13.4% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-electrical lamps and lighting fittings exports from the United Arab Emirates, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Oman ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Tanzania, with a 0.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +128.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (-11.8% per year) and Tanzania (-16.2% per year).

The average non-electrical lamp export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 6.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed a temperate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 126%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. In 2021, non-electrical lamp imports into the United Arab Emirates skyrocketed to X units, with an increase of 37% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-electrical lamp imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of non-electrical lamp to the United Arab Emirates, with a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, non-electrical lamp imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Saudi Arabia (X units), more than tenfold. India (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to -12.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Saudi Arabia (+61.9% per year) and India (+10.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-electrical lamps and lighting fittings to the United Arab Emirates, comprising 67% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 7% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 5.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China totaled -8.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (+1.7% per year) and India (+12.8% per year).

The average non-electrical lamp import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +5.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
