In general, imports enjoyed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, objective lens imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.3% over the last nine years.
