In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) remains the key foreign market for soups and broths exports from the United Arab Emirates, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kuwait ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Jordan, with an 8.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia stood at +138.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kuwait (+32.8% per year) and Jordan (+36.5% per year).

The average soups export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -1.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, soups export price increased by +121.4% against 2012 indices. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates
In 2021, purchases abroad of soups and broths was finally on the rise to reach X tons after six years of decline. Overall, imports, however, showed a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 16%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, soups imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced decrease. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Egypt (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of soups imports to the United Arab Emirates, together accounting for 58% of total imports. Spain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Germany, Denmark, Australia, the United States and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Jordan (with a CAGR of +32.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 37%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while the price for Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
