Hong Kong SAR (X units), the UK (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main destinations of telephone exports from the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 78% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +37.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for telephone exported from the United Arab Emirates were the UK ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X), together comprising 72% of total exports.

Telephone imports into the United Arab Emirates dropped to X units in 2022, which is down by -14.8% against 2021. In general, imports showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 35%. Imports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, telephone imports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 73%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
India (X units), Germany (X units) and the United States (X units) were the main suppliers of telephone imports to the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 61% share of total imports. Singapore, China, Australia, South Korea and Hong Kong SAR lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Australia (with a CAGR of +73.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of telephones and videophones to the United Arab Emirates, comprising 48% of total imports.
