Italy (X tons), Oman (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main destinations of glass fibre fabrics exports from the United Arab Emirates, with a combined 50% share of total exports. India, Ethiopia, Iran, Mauritania, Bahrain, China, Germany, Qatar, Sudan and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

Among the main countries of destination, Mauritania, with a CAGR of +59.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average glass fibre fabrics export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 2.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the United Arab Emirates
Glass fibre fabrics imports into the United Arab Emirates reduced to X tons in 2022, waning by -12.4% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 36%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +32.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 48%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest glass fibre fabrics supplier to the United Arab Emirates, with a 79% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fibre fabrics imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Korea (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by India (X tons), with a 2.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+4.6% per year) and India (+13.5% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass fibre fabrics to the United Arab Emirates, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 9.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+6.7% per year) and the UK (+3.6% per year).

The average glass fibre fabrics import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -4.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 22%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
