In value terms, agricultural and forestry tractor exports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a pronounced decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 9.3%. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The United States (X units), France (X units) and Ireland (X units) were the main destinations of agricultural and forestry tractor exports from the UK, with a combined 28% share of total exports. Belgium, Ukraine, Australia, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Spain, Germany, New Zealand and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Ukraine (with a CAGR of +29.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X), France ($X) and Ireland ($X) constituted the largest markets for agricultural and forestry tractor exported from the UK worldwide, together accounting for 36% of total exports. These countries were followed by Poland, Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Turkey and New Zealand, which together accounted for a further 38%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +22.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average agricultural and forestry tractor export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -21.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 50% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the UK
In 2021, supplies from abroad of agricultural and forestry tractors increased by 19% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 61%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, agricultural and forestry tractor imports rose notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China (X units), Germany (X units) and the United States (X units) were the main suppliers of agricultural and forestry tractor imports to the UK, together accounting for 56% of total imports. These countries were followed by Japan, India, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, Finland and Spain, which together accounted for a further 37%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +54.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of agricultural and forestry tractors to the UK, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with an 8.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany stood at +1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-3.8% per year) and Austria (+4.7% per year).

Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 49%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
