In value terms, electric board, desk and panel exports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Ireland (X units), France (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of electric board, desk and panel exports from the UK, together accounting for 44% of total exports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Bahrain, which together accounted for a further 41%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Bahrain (with a CAGR of +65.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 33%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The average import price for electrical boards, panels, consoles, desks and cabinets stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 5.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 20%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
