Imports by Country
India (X tons), Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) and Costa Rica (X tons) were the main suppliers of coconut imports to the UK, together comprising 73% of total imports. Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +41.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of coconuts to the UK, comprising 31% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from India stood at +10.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Cote d'Ivoire (+23.4% per year) and Thailand (+28.9% per year).

The average coconut import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
