In 2021, purchases abroad of desktop computers increased by 22% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, desktop computer imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Poland (X units), China (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of desktop computer imports to the UK, together accounting for 64% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +86.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
