In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified, when their volume decreased by -52.3% to X tons. In general, exports showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 190%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep reduction. Ireland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 10% share.

In value terms, Hong Kong SAR ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified exports from the UK, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with an 8.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Qatar, with an 8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Hong Kong SAR stood at +81.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+15.7% per year) and Qatar (+62.7% per year).

The average export price for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 118% against the previous year. In 2022, approx. X tons of non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified were imported into the UK; dropping by -8.5% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +9.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified imports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +25.6% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

Turkey (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Peru (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified imports to the UK, with a combined 57% share of total imports. South Africa, Colombia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Israel, Thailand, the Netherlands and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +67.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified suppliers to the UK were South Africa ($X), Turkey ($X) and Colombia ($X), together comprising 41% of total imports.
Colombia, with a CAGR of +58.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for non-citrus fruits not elsewhere classified amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -3.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 20%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
