Over the period under review, milled rice exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, milled rice exports attained their maximum at X tons in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, Ireland ($X), France ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the largest markets for milled rice exported from the UK worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, Belgium, Italy and Spain, which together accounted for a further X the main countries of destination, Belgium experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to market size, over the period under review, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2009 to 2018, the growth of milled rice imports failed to regain its momentum.

In 2018, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of milled rice to the UK, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, milled rice imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Thailand (X tons), with a X% share.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the price for Cambodia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
