The United States (X units), Belgium (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of hand stamp exports from the UK, together accounting for 64% of total exports. France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Finland, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Canada (with a CAGR of +46.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and Belgium ($X) constituted the largest markets for hand stamp exported from the UK worldwide, with a combined 59% share of total exports. France, the Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Poland and Finland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Canada, with a CAGR of +49.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average hand stamp export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 21%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Finland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the UK
In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of stamps for use in the hand, when their volume increased by 6.9% to X units. Overall, imports, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, hand stamp imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest hand stamp supplier to the UK, with a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, hand stamp imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), more than tenfold. Austria (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-3.5% per year) and Austria (-9.0% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of stamps for use in the hand to the UK, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Austria, with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +2.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-0.2% per year) and Austria (-16.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average hand stamp import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for India ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
